Introduction
Open Project Services (OPS) is a project collaboration platform. Get OPS to enable everyone working on a project to share project email - regardless of the message recipient and subject - and to log time spent on individual project tasks. OPS also allows you to get up-to-date reports of the time spent, filtered by timframe, project or person.
OPS allows you to use your standard mail, directory service and calendar software to collaborate on projects, and to reduce tedious, repetitive tasks and overhead.
It consists of a core project server, a number of auxiliary components and a set of client extensions. The core of OPS integrates the server components such as e-mail, ldap and fileshare with standards complient clients.
Project Management
You can use the OPS web interface to create projects, assign project members and define project tasks. The projects are stored in your ldap.
Email
OPS will create a project IMAP folder and give project members access to this mailbox. With the mail client plugin users can assign emails to any project they are a member of, doing so will put the email in the project folder that is accessible to all project members.
Time-tracking
Using the calendar extension project members can log the time they spent on each of the project tasks.
Reporting
The calendar logs can be turned into different kinds of reports. A detailed report allows you to compare the original time budget set for each project task, with the time currently spent. A summary report will show the total time spent on each project. Reports can be limited to a time frame, a person or a project. Currently four reporting styles are available but it is easy to add a stylesheet that serves your specific reporting needs. For reporting examples see
OpsAdminManual.
OPS Project also provides a web interface for archiving calendar files, once archived the files can still be used for reporting but they can no longer be altered.

Older
Some parts of ops are not maintaned anymore but are stil available for download. Here is a list of the installation instructions and manuals for the componets that are no logenr maintained:
If you are using an older version of OpenOffice or MS Excel, you can use the TimesheetHttpClient with OpenOffice Addons to import reports based on project time logs directly in your office document. Because the addons dont work with current Office tools, the addons and the TimesheetHttpClient are no longer maintained. If you still want to use them, you can find instructions here:
