This page describes how to install the OPS extension for Thunderbird.
Notes
To use this plugin a patched version of thunderbird is required. The patch isn't accepted in the mozilla source tree as of yet so we've provide custom builds for windows and linus. See the download page under "Email clients -> Mozilla Thunderbird(patched for ops)".
Installation instructions
How to install the OPS extension for Thunderbird
Download OpsEmail-x.x.xpi (where x.x is the version number).
Install the .XPI in Thunderbird
Open Thunderbird
Select "Extensions" from the "Tools" menu
Press "Install"
Select OpsEmail-x.x.xpi (from the location where you downloaded it to) and press "Open"
Wait a few seconds until the "Install Now" button is enabled, then press it.
Wait for the installation to be done and restart Thunderbird.
Configure OPS extension for Thunderbird
Go to "Extensions" in the "Tools" menu
Select "OpsEmail" and press "Options"
Fill in the URL of the webservices you want to use
Fill in your Ops username
Fill in your Ops password
Press "OK"
Show the shared project e-mail folders
Right click on your Ops e-mail account in the Folder tree pane
Select the "Subscribe" option
Press "Refresh"
Double click on "#shared"
Double click on "project"
Check all the project folders you want to see
Press "OK"
Note: To be able to show project folders in Thunderbird these need to be properly configured with IMAP ACL. See UsePhpLDAPAdminForOps and OpsLDAPEditorPluginUsage for more information.
